Word Inventationing
All around me, people make new words. Possibly my favourite are when people make a simple word more complicated in order to sound more intelligent.
Primo example: Comfortability
or even better: Uncomfortability
Whaever happened to good old-fashioned comfort or discomfort? Then there's another favourite:
Romantical
Then there are other words that are actually in Webster's dictionary that, in and of themselves, make no sense. My two current most dispised words are Safeness and Preparedness. Just a bit of a grammar lesson for you: Both are nouns. Both are REAL WORDS. However, in order to use these real words, one must mangle normal sentences into monstrosities. As stated earlier, the only reason people do this is to sound smarter. It actually works, except that the only people who perceive these people as being smarter are the people who are using the same techniques themselves, making them their own sub-culture.
For this reason, I will refer to people who use this lingo as "Intanguians". The word is derived from "Intelligent", "Language" and the suffix attached to referr to a group or culture of people: "ians".
Examples of Intanguinee (Languate of the Intanguians):
Intanguinee: Our classes provide a state of preparedness that allows an individual to establish online safeness.
Standard English: Our classes prepare you to stay safe online.
Intanguinee: The excessive firmness of the bed led to increased uncomfortability.
Standard English: The hard bed hurt.
Intanguinee: The new financee found herself in a nonunderwhelmedlike being as her love, full of gracefullness, spun revealing a ring full of sparkality. The bride-to-be swoonishly felt his romantical acts should not be unrewardishly handled.
Standard English: The girl got a nice rock.
Conclusion? I really don't have one, except please refrain from turning Intanguian on me. I prefer the simple life.

I came across your site after doing a search from "whambulance" trying to find out which movie I heard it from after hearing it in survivor recently. Thanks for solving that one. Anyways, My wife and I use a new word we created one day, Iranoyed. A mix of me thinking both irratated and annoyed and not seperating them before opening my mouth. use and abuse it as you see fit.
