Poll Problem
Where I work, there is a weekly poll. It's pointless, stupid, and aggrivating. Why? Let me give you an example of a poll:
If I was given a choice, I would MOST like to:
a) Win the lottery
b) Have all of my dreams come true
c) Fall in love
d) Cure cancer
e) All of the above
As you can probably guess, EACH POLL HAS ABOUT 90% OF PEOPLE PICKING "ALL OF THE ABOVE"! Duh! I had decided to turn a blind eye until I got into work today and saw that they have officially outdone themselves. Just in case you can't pick your favorite from a list, AND you don't think that EVERYTHING is the best, you now have another option. Here is the actual question (edited to protect the innocent):
Which do you think rates as the biggest milestone in ... history?
a) Event #1
b) Event #2
c) Some other event
d) Another event
e) All of these
f) Other
THAT'S RIGHT! Just in case you're COMPLETELY indecisive, you can pick OTHER when asked to pick as the biggest milestone from the list below. Wow. I'm speechless (that is, if you ignore the rant I just completed).

I totally voted "other" because I could care less about every one of the events. :-)
I hate those polls, too.

Aah, but see, there's the catch. It wasn't asking about what you care about. It was asking for the biggest milestone. It has nothing to do with personal preference.
Or, alternately, I'm being anal.

It asks, "Which do you think...?" I don't think. I don't care. Hence, I vote "other" out of spite at the narcissictic poll.
I suppose you're technically correct, but my irritation at the whole thing blinds me to accuracy.
P.S. I think we're the only ones reading this blog. :-)

All blogs start off that way...and if that doesn't change, it really wouldn't bother me.
